This abbreviation stands for "reverse wound/reverse polarity".
With these single coil pickups, the polarity of the magnet is reversed and the coil is reverse wound, compared to the standard model.
This has the advantage of allowing two single coils (one standard and one reversed) to be switched to fuction as a humbucker.
