Piezo pickups

Compared to single coils and humbuckers, piezo pickups are something different. They are attached to the string retainer point on the bridge of guitars and basses. With a piezo, the sound is created directly by it and not by the induced voltage of a magnet field.
The sound is really clear and harmonic . It makes electric guitars sound almost like a western guitar.

That´s why it´s often used in songs where an acoustic guitar sound is needed.

Piezo pickups are often used together with a pre-amplifier.
In combination with the magnetic pickups, a range of switching positions can be set fora a broad range of interesting sounds.
