Puntke Guitars: And now for something completely different!

The renowned guitar-maker Stefan Puntke of Puntke Guitars (www.puntke-guitars.de) has taken the step of being one of the first people in the trade to use Schaller's revolutionary new "Hannes" bridge on one of his exquisite guitars. The fact that Stefan Puntke was really one of the first is clear from the fact that - as you can see here - the bridge doesn't even have our Schaller "S" on it, so it's one of the prototypes from the pilot series.

What better reason, then, to let you read what Stefan Puntke himself has to say about Schaller's "Hannes" bridge on his website:

Anyone who visited the last two Musikmesse trade fairs, or who was at the NAMM show, has had the opportunity to finally see something truly NEW in guitar bridges.

Schaller has blazed a new trail in design, concept and choice of materials, and has brought its "Hannes" bridge to the market. Through-body stringing, carbon fiber saddles and - above all - the screw fastenings of the rear string anchor plate, which travel throught the body, give it incredible sustain. The material of the saddles also improves the clean, unmuted vibration of the strings, and the shape of the bridge allows the palm to sit comfortably - with or without mutes.

The bridge used here (the prototype from the NAMM show) was kindly given to me by Schaller for a first-time-ever guitar project...

Series production is up and running, and the first examples in nickel, black and ruthenium/gold are already on order...
